IFM was created to help people better understand their health, before illness and disease become the defining chapters of their stories.
IFM was never meant to become simply another clinic. It grew out of years of caring for individuals and families, and one truth that became impossible to ignore: people are searching for answers, for understanding, and for hope.
Built for rural Southwest Georgia, where many families drive hours for this kind of care, IFM exists to bridge the gap between primary care and the hospital, catching what matters before it becomes disease, and helping people get well rather than simply get by.
Our goal is never to create dependence. It is to equip you with knowledge and tools that keep serving you long after your time with us has ended. As IFM grows, these commitments stay unchanged.
We approach the privilege of caring for others with gratitude and stewardship.
We share honest, understandable information so you can decide with confidence.
We listen before we recommend, and partner with you rather than dictate.
We care for the whole person and help you see what is possible.
Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.
Faith is not simply a part of the IFM story. It is the foundation of how we serve, through kindness, humility, integrity, and genuine care.
It is not who we serve. It is how we serve, and IFM warmly welcomes people from every background, belief, and walk of life.
Born and raised in Kenya, Dr. Sumaili knew by the age of nine that she wanted to be a doctor. She calls it exactly what it was: a calling. That conviction carried her across the world and through medical training and residency in rural Albany, Georgia.
Over nearly fifteen years in primary care and hospital medicine, one question kept surfacing: why weren’t patients truly getting well? So she stepped away, spent a year and a half studying functional medicine, and set out to practice differently, drawing from both conventional and functional care rather than choosing between them. Through it all, her order never changes: faith first, her daughter next, and her calling as a physician right after.
I’m not here to replace anyone’s primary care. I’m here to bridge a gap. Dr. St. Claire Sumaili, M.D.
